My name is Abbey and I am a qualified Personal Stylist, graduating with a coveted Distinction from The London College of Style. Based on the Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire border, also covering London for one-on-one style session and UK wide via my Virtual Styling Services.
I come from a fashion retail background after switching careers from Marketing and Advertising and re-training in Visual Merchandising before launching my own womenswear boutique and website. When my lease ended I was left pretty heartbroken and it was my friends who suggested I retrained in Personal Styling – it was THE best advice they ever gave me!
I spent a lot of time researching which course and I chose The London College of Style because of the quality of the tutors, it’s solid reputation and the course was a great mix of practical getting out there doing personal shops and classroom lessons for wardrobe edits, business planning and colour training. I had already begun my styling business when I started the Diploma but what it gave me was confidence, upgrading the level of service I could offer including Colour Analysis and Menswear and a great network of colleagues, fellow stylists and now friends who have been hugely supportive and encouraging.
The support of LCS after the course has been instrumental in elevating my business to the next level where brands now approach me to work with them and getting real industry experience such as working backstage at LFW gives you validity and relevance within the industry and your clients will love to hear your stories. These days I appear as an expert on Body Shape on BBC Radio, I also guest speak at The London College of Style, host prestigious Style Workshops with brands such as SpaceNK, Mint Velvet and Whistles, dress backstage at London Fashion Week as well as creating video content for independent brands, am the resident stylist for The 1:1 Cambridge Diet working with their prize winners on a complete styling package and host my own Style Workshops with a Wellbeing Retreat planned for September 2020, an Art & Style event in London, Colour Exploration event in Hertfordshire and more recently online Style Workshops ranging from Wardrobe Edits for the Women’s Institute to live Body Shape workshops online.
