An intensive industry-focused Fashion Photography Foundation training, aimed at new photographers beginning their journey in this field. Designed and supervised by respected industry photographers, you will learn the basics of theoretic and practical camera use, expanding to execution of individual fashion shoot concepts at industry level.

  • Course Overview

  •  This intensive, industry focused Fashion Photography Diploma course has been designed by established experts in the field.  The course begins at grass roots level, covering both theoretic and practical applications of basic camera use through to more complex technique and surmounts in coordination and execution of individual concept shoots. Workshops will focus on advancing camera skills, studio lighting, lighting on location, and essential portfolio preparation skills – both digital and printed.

    Work with professional fashion teams where you will be supervised and guided by industry respected photographers.  You will learn how to shoot on location and in studio to produce shoots on live fashion photography projects where work will be submitted for publishing for magazines both on-line and in print.

    Learn the industry protocols for establishing industry connectivity, booking models, establishing contact with magazine editor for editorial shoot commission as well as mood boarding, historical fashion referencing, Adobe Photoshop skills and commercial applications for photography.

    At LCS you will work with industry established teams of agency signed models, fashion stylists, makeup artists and session hair stylists to create the solid foundations of professional portfolio work with guided support.

    Equipment / Requirements of Study:

    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • Digital SLR Camera – Canon and Nikon preferred.

    All students must purchase a subscription to Adobe Creative Suite / Adobe Photoshop and have access to a laptop. Students will own their digital camera.

    Beyond Study

    All graduates are supported with an individually tailored stylist career plan to support the transition into the industry as professionals.
LCS is accredited by the BAC (British Accreditation Council) and the course is Diploma certificated awarded at Pass, Merit and Distinction level of achievement.

    LCS Pro-Club

    At LCS, our door is always open to our graduates. The course qualifies you for complimentary membership to the LCS Pro-Club beyond study. The Club runs regular gatherings as a great opportunity to chat face to face with resident lecturers and key industry guest speakers, for valuable networking plus industry tips and news.

    Expansion of Fashion Photography training at LCS

    Students who have enrolled and successfully completed the Fashion Photography Foundation Diploma (12-week) course will quality for a 10% discount for tuition fees on our Advanced Fashion Photography Diploma (and on our alternative course subjects) due to launch in September 2018. The course focuses on developing industry recognition and profile as a freelance fashion photographer and additional engagement on live projects for published work as well as emphasis on securing commercial vocational skills and employment.

    The course requires a minimum of 3 days study per week from 9am to 5pm, comprising one compulsory on-campus day every Friday, plus 2 days combining working opportunities, set assignments and group exhibitions.   • Entry Requirements

  • Successful applicants will demonstrate a keen interest in fashion photography with a great working attitude. Our expectations from applicants are:

    • A pursuit of excellence in all you do with the enthusiasm to learn and develop outstanding skills
    • A commitment to take responsibility to work hard in a supported, creative environment

    A good command of the English language is also necessary as all classes are taught in English. All students are required to submit our completed LCS application form provided below.

    Preferably 3 GCSEs (grade A-C) or BTEC National Diploma or equivalent for international students.

    At LCS, we recognise that some of the most creative individuals are not necessarily the ones the excel academically. Therefore, please feel welcome to apply if you do not have this academic standard, and are passionate in your decision to be a Stylist, or have work experience instead.

    Applicants must be 18 years or older at the start of the course.
