Whether you’re an experienced colour analyst, personal stylist or image consultant, this masterclass has been designed to take your colour analysis skills to the next professional level.
How It Works
Part One – Live Online Masterclass
Your training begins with a live online theory session where you’ll explore the principles behind the 12-season colour analysis system.
Together, we’ll revisit the foundations of seasonal colour analysis before introducing the colour dimensions that create the sub-seasons.
You’ll develop a deeper understanding of:
- Temperature
- Chroma
- Value
- Colour harmony
- Colour flow
- Seasonal adjacencies
- Why colours can be borrowed between neighbouring seasons
- How to manage the 12 sub-seasonal draping process with paying clients
This theory session provides the knowledge you’ll apply during your practical training day.
Following the live session, you’ll receive lifetime access to the online learning materials, allowing you to revisit the theory whenever you need.
Part Two – Practical Training in London
Join us at the London College of Style Russell Square campus for an immersive practical training day.
Working alongside experienced tutors, fellow students and live models, you’ll put the theory into practice through guided draping exercises and demonstrations.
You’ll learn how to observe subtle colour shifts, identify neighbouring sub-seasons and understand how chroma, value and temperature influence the colours that harmonise with each client.
By comparing drapes across adjacent palettes, you’ll begin to recognise why two clients with the same primary season can require completely different colour recommendations.
Throughout the day you’ll refine your observational skills, strengthen your decision-making and build confidence working with increasingly complex client colourings.
Client Case Studies
After completing the practical workshop, you’ll carry out two client colour analysis case studies.
These assessments allow you to apply your new knowledge with real clients while receiving personalised tutor feedback to help refine your technique and build professional confidence.

FAQ
What is Sub-Season Colour Analysis?
Sub-season colour analysis builds upon the traditional four-season colour analysis system by introducing the 12 seasonal palettes. It explores the influence of temperature, value and chroma, allowing you to make more personalised colour recommendations for each client.
Do I need to understand the four seasons before attending?
Yes. This is an advanced masterclass designed for qualified colour analysts who already understand Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter colour analysis.
Is this course suitable for beginners?
No. We recommend this course for qualified colour analysts who have practical experience carrying out client consultations.
Show more questions
Can I attend if I trained with another colour analysis provider?
Yes. Qualified colour analysts from other recognised training providers are welcome to attend depending on the type of training you have completed in the past, e.g Tonal, not typing. Please let us know where you completed your previous training when booking and contact admissions@londoncollegeofstyle.com for more information. We may ask to see your curriculum to ensure the training is suitable.
How much practical training is included?
The practical training day includes tutor demonstrations, hands-on draping practice, working with fellow students and analysing live models, giving you plenty of opportunity to develop your confidence.
Will I receive a draping kit?
No. The course price listed is for the training experience only. You can purchase a 50 drape set of sub-seasonal colour drapes in 4 colour ways, and additional metallics from LCS Shop online and it will be ready to pick up on the first day of the training in London.
What happens after the training day?
You’ll complete two client case studies using your new knowledge and submit them for personalised tutor feedback before receiving your certificate.
Will I receive a certificate?

Will I be able to offer Sub-Season Colour Analysis to clients?
Yes. The course has been designed to provide the theoretical knowledge, practical draping skills and professional confidence needed to incorporate sub-season colour analysis into your client consultations.
Why should I learn the 12-season colour system?
The 12-season system allows you to refine your colour analysis by understanding why clients within the same primary season often suit different levels of brightness, softness, depth and lightness. Rather than replacing the traditional four-season approach, it builds upon it, enabling you to deliver increasingly personalised recommendations and enhance the client experience.
