Levi’s Press Day – Funky Fresh Dressed to Impress
25 Oct by Joe Miller
As I was out completing pulls for this weeks editorial, I was invited by one of the PRs to view the LEVI’S Press day up the road! I have never had the opportunity to go to such a thing so of course I was curious and wanted to go! When I walked up I knew I was at the right place when I saw the paint on the door. I didn’t get the hint as to how the door was a prelude to the vibes of the collections behind it.
As soon as I walked in I just knew I belonged here! As a 90s baby I loved walking into the sounds of Saved by the Bell, 80s/90s Hip Hop stickers, scrunchies, old board games – AHH the memories. I could easily see the inspiration for the collections and it resonated with me.
INSPIRATION FOR THE COLLECTION
The feel of the room was like you just stepped into your best friends room and their closet. There were several closets – some for guys some for ladies, each with different vibes and a reminder of the 90s. Even the models chillin’ on the couch when you walked in felt cool and relaxed like the clothes. They were kickin’ it watching Fresh Prince and playing board games all day. Not only did they look cool/fresh, they had the coolest job!
MY EUPHORIC NOSTALGIA
Aside from the cool clothes I was so interested in the old hip hop photos and 90s model collaged all over the room. It took my back to J14 and Word UP! Magazine posters, locker photos and TRL.
Take a look at some of my favourite closets and the retro vibes!
Now that I’ve attended my first press day and know what to expect, I am really looking forward to attending PUMA’s press day this week! It’s so much fun getting to see next seasons clothes from some of my favourite brands!
