After enjoying my initial explorations into design through courses in Interior Decoration and Art and Design, I graduated with a BA Hons Degree in Interior Design in 2006. After graduating, I took the opportunity to relocate to London and immersed myself into the ever-evolving world of design.

I found my first break into the industry by joining a start-up design company, thrown straight into the deep end, I gained invaluable experience navigating my way through residential, retail and workplace design projects.

After a few years, I achieved my goal of launching my own design studio www.nataliebarker.co.uk. Over the past decade I have pitched and won multiple large-scale high-end design projects, managed a team of freelance designers and worked with architects, contractors and project managers to design and deliver bespoke interiors.

Project highlights include:

– The interior redesign of an extensive country property for a young family. Designing and sourcing decorative schemes and furnishings for 19 rooms, preparing bespoke joinery packs, sourcing and specify all fixtures and fittings for construction tender.

– The redesign of a 56,000 sq ft head office space of a world-renowned construction company. Increasing capacity, introducing co-working spaces, meeting suites, canteen facilities and hospitality areas.

– The interior redesign of a four-story private residence, including multiple reception rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms.

– An office refurbishment for a leading UK legal business, including board rooms, meeting spaces and showering facilities.

I have balanced my design career in tandem with teaching posts, becoming an experienced interior design educator and developing a strong association with online learning.

I am immensely passionate about interior design and take a great deal of satisfaction in fostering students’ development into confident and capable designers by sharing the knowledge base built throughout my work. I look forward to engaging with LCS students and sharing my design experiences to support their ongoing journey.

“I am thrilled to be part of the LCS community. Interior design and education have always been my big passions, getting to share these with the LCS students has been such a joy. The students are always so dedicated and it’s a pleasure to be part of their design journey so far!”
