Vaanita Oakey

I am a specialist and an expert in visual story telling through fashion styling, creative direction and shoot production. With over 25 years of industry experience in the fashion industry I thrive in supporting brands, fellow creatives and individuals to realise their full potential through production, style and creative direction. I use my expertise to deliver ideas from the initial light bulb moment to reality working collaboratively with individuals as well as diverse teams. 

I am currently a fashion editor and contributor to a number of fashion publications focusing on shoot production and editorial fashion styling as well as an active celebrity and personal stylist. It has been an honour to have contributed as a fashion stylist and a producer to a number of national and international magazines which include, Danish Cosmo, A4 Mag, Fabulous, ES Mag, Grazia, Elle, Schon, Huf, House of Solo, Nicotine and Vogue.

As a celebrity stylist I have styled a number celebrities including Vanessa Williams, Geri Halliwell, Gabby Logan, Sharon, Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne, Anna Friel, Lionel Richie to name a few. I believe in developing creative styling solutions which blend with the individuals’ personality, lifestyle and event making the individual feel and look fantabulous and their best as all times. 

As fashion stylist and visionary I go beyond working within the normal constraints of seasonal trends and prefer to develop styling solutions which have a longer lifespan. Recently working with British, International designers and brands which practice ethical, sustainable and circular fashion.

With all my years of experience I have always loved to share my knowledge, supporting the development of individuals who have a passion to learn of all things fashion, from editorial production, fashion design, personal styling and developing branding concepts. Enabling creatives to understand how to develop a visual exchange of thoughts and ideas. I encourage the process of editing visual narratives embracing all the elements of fashion, focusing on colour, texture, shape and proportion through discussion and practice.
