Hi, I am your History of Fashion tutor, helping you to put trends and styles into historical context from decades past in an easily accessible and hopefully, interesting way.

I studied fashion and textiles at Central Saint Martins London and went on to study an MA in Theatre Design at Wimbledon College of Art.

Starting my career as fashion designer with the textile-led company English Eccentrics in the 1980’s, I have worked in theatre and dance, and am always busy with new and exciting projects and commissions. I create garments for pop stars or musicians and for advertisements. Recently I’ve produced a line of reconstructed jewellery and accessories and a series of surreal decorative installations for events company Immersivecult and a well-known nightclub in Mayfair. I have also styled and produced many student fashion shows, written a play, and produced a fashion film, shown in the Berlin Fashion Film Festival.

Teaching has always been part of my life, and I love the cross fertilisation of ideas it encourages. I have taught design, textiles and pattern cutting at well – know colleges such as London College of Fashion, Chelsea College of Art & Design and The Royal College of Art & Design London, and have been part of LCS from its inception.
