This submission was for Vogue Italia whereby students worked with photographer Piers Vernon-Kell and LCS Beauty (Hair) Lecturer Carolina Crona. This was a beauty shoot editorial shoot where student stylists work together with 3 hair session workers to produce the images shown. They worked collaboratively on this styling assignment, working to various themes, briefs and moods.
This particular fashion shoot was based around the works of British artist David Hockney. Student fashion stylists on the Foundation Diploma course attended a college trip to Tate Britain where they saw the artist’s work. Their styling was made upon them each choosing one of Hockney’s paintings and studying it in some detail, then using it as the inspiration for a fashion styling look for AW’16. Some students chose to focus on painterly colours and patterns which others looked a clean lines, structure and blocks of colour. It was an open brief with lots of experimentation on live models utilities fashion styling skills learned on the course.
