TASK PR – Press Day SS18

Thanks to the course I’m currently doing in London with LCS, I had the amazing opportunity to be invited to the Press Day of Task PR.

This was my first press day and even though I have worked with TASK PR previously, borrowing samples to style fashion editorials, I didn’t know what to expect.

The event was located in a wonderful London area and when I arrived a very kind girl welcomed me and offered to give me a little tour of the space and the brands that were exhibited.

The feel of the room was very fun, the decoration was simple but corresponding to the clothes they were displaying. Also there was a small bar right next to a sitting area, which gave the space a really nice and welcoming vibe.

LENA HOSCHEK

The first brand I came across was Lena Hoschek. The whole rack was screaming Spring Summer as it was full of pastel colours and soft textures, along with polka dot fabrics, which is such a strong trend for this upcoming season.

IPHORIA

Right next to it was my personal highlight of the event – a brand called Iphoria. It stands for that certain “je ne sais quoi that transforms the ordinary into a fashion statement” and that was exactly what they did, not only with their accessories line, but also with their statement cashmere pieces.

MARCCAIN

As a fashion stylist in the making, I have noticed how my eye has been getting more a more trained into identifying pieces that would shoot well and MARCCAIN is a brand that captured my attention for that particular reason. This SS18 pieces with the vibrant colours and prints are definitely a great material for editorials, as they were extremely striking and eye-catching in the showroom.

Now that I’ve attended my first press day I realised that one of the most important parts of working in fashion is developing your networking skills properly and these events play such a big role in that. From having the opportunity to share your work with other people to meeting other fashion stylists or even just to inspire yourself with the clothes for future shoots. I’m looking forward to keep attending these events and seeing next season brand proposals!
