Combining the Foundation and Advanced Diploma courses, this six months study option equips students with the skills, contacts and industry experiences to fast track your career in editorial fashion styling at professional level.

  • Course Overview

  • This study option combines both the Fashion & Personal Styling Foundation Diploma and the Editorial Styling Advanced Diploma over concurrent terms.

    While fashion styling is a highly appealing and competitive career option, it usually takes several years to develop to professional level. In the expert boutique learning environment of LCS, with the luxury of outstanding editorial experts leading all key components of the course, students can take advantage of industry fast-tracking in a well-paced and challenging learning environment adapted to meet individual requirements.

    LCS is accredited by the BAC (British Accreditation Council) and the course is Diploma and Advanced Diploma certificated awarded at Pass, Merit and Distinction level of achievement.

  • Subjects Covered

  • Term 1 – Fashion & Personal Styling Foundation Diploma
    Term 1 covers a broad overview of all types of styling including Editorial, Personal, Celebrity, TV and Show. Students focus on creating the beginnings of an impressive working portfolio at this stage. Additionally students develop honed personal styling skills transferrable to celebrity and personal styling clients alike. All students are exposed under expert direction to high profile industry opportunities with the aim of developing impressive CVs.

    Term 2 – Editorial Styling Advanced Diploma
    The primary aim for Term 2 is for students to link in with industry at an advanced level to publish works in print and online. Students work in conjunction with leading brands, PR and model bookers at a very high industry level, forming invaluable contacts for a life-long career in editorial fashion styling.

    Wednesday 11th January 2017  – Wednesday 29th March 2017
    Term 2 Editorial Styling Advanced Diploma
    Tuesday 18th April 2017  – Monday 3rd July 2017

    Term 2 Editorial Styling Advanced Diploma
    Monday 4th September 2017 – Monday 20th November 2017

    The course runs over 2 concurrent terms of 12 weeks each and requires a minimum of 3 days study per week from 9am to 5pm, comprising one compulsory on-campus day every Wednesday for Term 1 and every Monday for Term 2, plus 2 days combining working opportunities, set assignments and group exhibitions.

    There is scope to create full time study commitment if required.

    Concessionary Fee

    Students who enrol on the six month combined study diploma are eligible for a concessionary fee of 10% discount on the second course fee as shown below.

  • Entry Requirements

  • Successful applicants will demonstrate a keen interest in fashion and personal styling with a great working attitude. Applicants may be complete beginners or have previous editorial fashion styling experience. Our expectations from applicants are:

    • A pursuit of excellence in all you do with the enthusiasm to learn and develop outstanding skills
    • A commitment to take responsibility to work hard in a supported, creative environment

    A good command of the English language is also necessary as all classes are taught in English. All students are required to submit our completed LCS application form provided below.

    Preferably 3 GCSEs (grade A-C) or BTEC National Diploma or equivalent for international students.

    At LCS, we recognise that some of the most creative individuals are not necessarily the ones the excel academically. Therefore, please feel welcome to apply if you do not have this academic standard, and are passionate in your decision to be a Stylist, or have work experience instead.

    Applicants must be 18 years or older at the start of the course.
